Our story

Our Beefmaster journey began in 2018 with a small commercial herd in Crosby, TX and two simple goals: To raise good cattle as a family and to make the best use of our land.

What started as a practical decision turned into a true passion for our family after stopping by our first purebred Beefmaster sale. The caliber of cattle and the quality of people in the Beefmaster breed set us on a new path toward the purebred program we proudly run today. We’ve been incredibly thankful for the opportunity to incorporate genetics from some of the Beefmaster breed’s top programs and, just as importantly, to build friendships and learn from fellow breeders and mentors who have generously shared their knowledge and experience with us.

Our goal is to produce profitable cattle that perform in real-world conditions while maintaining the integrity and strength of the Beefmaster breed.

Every breeding decision is made with the commercial cattleman and seedstock producer in mind. As a true family-owned and operated outfit, we take pride in being hands-on in all aspects of our operation, and in having our kiddos, the RB of our brand, by our side every step of the way.

The Beefmaster breed was developed in the early 1930’s by Tom Lasater, through a crossing of Hereford and Shorthorn cows with Brahman bulls (25% Hereford, 25% Milking Shorthorn, 50% Brahman). This unique combination of Bos Indicus and Bos Taurus breeding allows Beefmasters to thrive in a wide range of extreme climates and environments. The development of the breed was founded on and continues to be guided by “The Six Essential Traits” - Disposition, Fertility, Weight, Conformation, Milk Production, and Hardiness.

Along with the Six Essentials, you can expect to add calving ease, maternal ability, fleshing ability, disease tolerance, insect tolerance, heat tolerance, and longevity when introducing Beefmaster to your seedstock or commercial cattle operation.

Beefmasters are an ideal balance of convenience, breed complementarity, and heterosis retention, and cross extremely well with Angus, Charolais, Hereford, Brahman, and more.
